Following a decisive 6-2 win against Egypt’s Cleopatras this Wednesday, the Super Falcons received a $60,000 payout for their goal-scoring efforts, according to DAILY POST. Initially, the National Sports Commission (NSC) had pledged $5,000 for every goal scored, starting from the team’s debut WAFCON 2026 match against Malawi.
Shehu Gusau, the Nigeria Football Federation president, spoke to the squad after the Egypt victory and revealed that the NSC has doubled the incentive to $10,000 per goal. This financial boost is intended to raise team spirits before their upcoming quarter-final match.
Nigeria is scheduled to face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon this Sunday in Casablanca. The match victor will advance to the semi-finals and secure an automatic qualification spot for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
