Atletico Madrid has declined a proposal to sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray. Reports indicate that the Nigerian striker was offered to the Spanish side for a fee of €75 million, but the club chose not to proceed with the deal.
Although Osimhen was reportedly open to taking a pay cut to join Diego Simeone’s squad, Atletico Madrid determined the move was not feasible. Financial constraints currently limit the club’s ability to facilitate such a high-value transaction during the current transfer period.
Furthermore, the Spanish team is satisfied with its current attacking lineup, specifically pointing to Julian Alvarez as the primary player for the central striker position. Management remains committed to Alvarez and sees no need to pursue an additional forward like Osimhen, who is currently under contract in Istanbul until 2029.
