Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has officially named Dr Mohammed Goje as the substantive Secretary to the State Government. Dr Goje had been performing these duties in an interim capacity following his initial appointment on April 29, 2026.
A statement from Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs for the Governor, indicated that the decision was based on Dr Goje’s proven dedication and ability while holding the office. Prior to his role as Acting SSG, he led the State Emergency Management Agency as its Executive Secretary.
Governor Buni has tasked the official with upholding the administration’s trust by enhancing public service and promoting effective governance. The Governor noted that Dr Goje’s extensive background in public office is expected to assist the current administration in fulfilling its commitments to the citizens of Yobe State.
