Over the past two weeks, the Kaduna State Police Command executed a series of operations that resulted in the neutralisation of several kidnappers and the apprehension of 19 suspects, including 16 individuals linked to abductions and three gunrunners. During these raids, officers retrieved 190 solar inverters valued at N69 million, along with 10 lithium batteries, 10 firearms, 170 fake US dollar bills, and over 400 stolen cattle. Other seized items included 83 packs of narcotics, 32 mobile phones, two televisions, and a Toyota Sienna.
State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, stated that these efforts demonstrate the force’s commitment to eradicating criminal activity within the region. The crackdown included the capture of Aisha Barau, who was detained in Ramin Kura Village for attempting to trade counterfeit currency, which ultimately led police to her suppliers, Abdullahi Muhammad and Danbala Jibrin.
In a separate development, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit apprehended three gunrunners—Luka Samuel, John Paul, and Musa Elisha—in Jos, Plateau State, after discovering two homemade pistols in their possession. Additionally, police captured a prominent kidnapping figure known as Abdullahi Mohammed, alias Aala, in Ikara, Kano State. He confessed to coordinating multiple abductions and the murder of two vigilante members, with authorities recovering an AK-47 rifle from him. Commissioner Muhammad urged the public to keep sharing reliable information to assist in keeping the state secure.
