Ann Widdecombe passed away following a violent attack in her Devon residence, where she was struck on the head with a hammer 21 times, according to information presented at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Prosecutor Kashif Malik stated that the incident occurred on July 8. Joshua Kerry, who faces a murder charge, allegedly arrived at the victim’s home in a red Vauxhall Corsa and gained entry through the front entrance while she was eating lunch.
The court was told that Kerry spent only two minutes inside the home. He allegedly assaulted Widdecombe with a hammer, knocked her from her seat, and stole her wallet before fleeing the scene. Joshua Kerry, 28, from South Yorkshire, remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey later today.
