Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has encouraged citizens to defy those promoting instability by participating actively in the upcoming August 15 governorship election. Addressing a congregation at Winners Chapel in Osogbo this Sunday, the governor advised the electorate to remain steadfast against intimidation from opposition groups.
A statement released by spokesperson Olawale Rasheed noted the governor’s belief that political opponents have turned to aggression because they anticipate defeat. Adeleke dismissed concerns regarding intimidation, asserting that neither he nor the public will be deterred. He invited residents to exercise their democratic rights as a clear response to those causing unrest.
The governor reiterated that his administration prioritizes the security of the citizenry. Despite challenges, he expressed confidence in his government’s ability to maintain order. Highlighting accomplishments in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure, Adeleke emphasized his expectation that voters will support his reelection based on his performance.
