The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially released the names of 19 presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections, making their credentials available for public inspection.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the official list of 19 presidential contenders and their respective vice-presidential partners for the upcoming 2027 general elections. On Saturday, the election authority made the candidates’ personal documentation and credentials available for review.

These filings, known as Form EC9, are currently accessible at commission offices across the country. This display follows the requirements of the 2026 Electoral Act, which ensures the public has an opportunity to scrutinize the information provided by those running for office.

According to Section 29(3) of the Act, the commission is legally obligated to share these personal details, affidavits, and qualifications within three weeks of receiving party nominations. By making these records public at state and local branches, the agency aims to increase accountability throughout the election period.
