The Labour Party has officially acquired the necessary access credentials from the Independent National Electoral Commission to begin submitting candidate information for the 2027 state-level elections. This encompasses both governorship and State House of Assembly hopefuls.
Ken Asogwa, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, announced on Monday that the submission process started on Saturday. He stated that the workflow is steady and that a large portion of candidate profiles have already been successfully submitted to the portal.
Although Asogwa declined to identify specific states or candidates currently processed, he addressed historical technical difficulties. He noted that previous struggles with presidential and National Assembly nominations stemmed from challenges in aligning internal party records with the commission’s database. The party maintains it is prioritizing compliance with all deadlines set by electoral authorities for the upcoming general elections.
