Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called on citizens to participate in the upcoming August 15 gubernatorial election with courage. During a rally in Ipetumodu, he emphasized that the public holds the power to decide the election outcome through their ballots.

While commissioning the 10.4-kilometre Edunabon–Tonkere Road, Adeleke told residents to ignore intimidation tactics. He stated that the people own the state and encouraged them to cast their votes without fear for their safety. In a follow-up message delivered by his aide, Olawale Rasheed, the governor urged security services to act professionally and maintain a peaceful atmosphere to protect democratic integrity.

Addressing reports of violence, Adeleke remarked that his administration is committed to peace, even as he urged voters to remain steadfast in exercising their rights. Prior to the rally, the governor met with traditional leaders in Ife North Local Government Area. The monarchs, including the Alakinlalu of Akinlalu, lauded the completion of the road project, noting that it successfully concluded forty years of neglect in the region.
