The Nigeria Police Force has deployed Commissioner of Police Erale Samuel Etaifo to coordinate security for the upcoming Osun State governorship election, emphasizing neutrality and strict law enforcement.

The Nigeria Police Force has assigned Commissioner of Police Erale Samuel Etaifo to oversee election security in Osun State for the upcoming gubernatorial race. This move, authorized by Inspector-General of Police Rilwan Olatunji Disu, aims to bolster security protocols before, during, and after the voting process.

DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, stated that the decision underscores the Inspector-General’s dedication to professional, neutral, and democratic electoral standards. Etaifo is tasked with managing security operations and collaborating with other security services to enforce the Electoral Act and established codes of conduct.

Authorities have promised a secure environment for residents, their property, and voting materials. Officers have received clear directives to act impartially and respect the rights of all citizens. Furthermore, the command cautioned political participants against interference, stating that violence, vote-buying, and intimidation will result in legal consequences.
