Keyamo Accuses Peter Obi of Dishonesty Regarding Airport Allegations

Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has accused Peter Obi of fabricating claims of airport harassment, demanding a formal apology and a fine within one week.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has publicly challenged the claims made by 2027 presidential contender Peter Obi concerning an encounter at an airport. During a recent interview on the Channels Television program Politics Today, Keyamo asserted that Obi intentionally fabricated stories about his experience.

Keyamo remarked that the former candidate frequently makes false statements without regard for the truth. Obi had previously alleged that he faced harassment at the airport specifically due to his political background. In response, Keyamo argued that it is unjust for a political figure to level such accusations against staff without allowing an opportunity for the facts to be verified.

The Minister has formally demanded that Peter Obi issue an apology and pay a fine within seven days. This ultimatum stems from Keyamo’s stance that Obi unfairly characterized airport workers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja as persecutors.
