On Thursday, family members verified that the 87-year-old former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom passed away in Abuja. Responding to the news via his official Facebook account, Atiku described himself as profoundly saddened by the event.
The former Vice President stated that the nation has lost a distinguished public servant, diplomat, and statesman who contributed significantly to Nigeria throughout his long career. He extended his condolences to the grieving family, the Sokoto State government, the Sultanate Council, and all Nigerians affected by this passing. Atiku concluded his statement by praying that Allah grants the deceased entry into Aljannatul Firdaus and provides solace to his loved ones.
