Donald Trump labels Iran leadership sick following alleged drone strike near Strait of Hormuz

President Trump claims Iran abandoned a major deal shortly before a drone attack near the Strait of Hormuz, while also paying tribute to the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

President Donald Trump recently asserted that Iranian officials had consented to a comprehensive agreement with the United States just prior to an alleged drone strike against a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. In an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Trump characterized the Iranian regime as irrational, stating that they discarded a favorable deal shortly after committing to it. The president did not offer specific details regarding the proposed agreement.

Regarding the confrontation, Trump claimed the U.S. military took decisive action in response to the attack, stating, We bombed the hell out of them. He further emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz continues to facilitate global shipping traffic despite Iranian assertions. During the same interview, Trump discussed the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. He recalled a final conversation with the South Carolina lawmaker, noting that while Graham seemed somewhat weary, his spirits were high. Trump reflected on their journey from initial political rivals during the 2016 campaign to becoming close allies, expressing personal disbelief at the senator’s sudden death.
