Yusuf Gadgi, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence, has stated that the signatures belonging to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, are genuine on correspondence sent to nine federal agencies. During a legislative investigative hearing regarding the alleged fraudulent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) and the status of its purported leader, Adeyemi Adeniyi, Gadgi clarified the situation.
Gadgi noted that the signature used on the appointment document for Adeniyi is the only one that appears forged. He confirmed that multiple letters dispatched from the Chief of Staff’s office to organizations such as the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contain consistent, authentic signatures. In a separate development, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, testified that representatives from the PFIPC had approached her office attempting to register as a legitimate new agency. She emphasized that such an occurrence is unprecedented in her tenure and added that the group had requested an official appointment letter for their Chief Executive Officer based on an alleged Establishment Act.
