Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated on Wednesday that his team intends to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid by highlighting completed infrastructure rather than using typical political speeches. Wike emphasized that construction efforts across the territory will proceed without interruption during the upcoming election cycle.
The minister shared these thoughts while reviewing construction progress on the Arterial Road N16, which connects Jahi to Karsana, and the 7.3-kilometre road spanning from Tunga Madaki to Zuba. Wike asserted that actual results represent the true campaign, noting that voters prioritize tangible achievements over mere promises. He maintained confidence that his administration has built a strong record of fulfilling its commitments to the public.
Regarding the N16 project, Wike expressed optimism that the contractor would meet the January completion deadline, which is expected to improve accessibility significantly in the Gwarinpa area. He promised that the government would continue to prioritize consistent funding to prevent delays. At the Tunga Madaki-Zuba site, the minister noted that despite weather-related setbacks, the contractor remained on track with drainage work and plans for new street lighting.
