Kaduna CAN Denounces Massacre of 30 in Kauru and Urges Immediate Security Intervention

The Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna has expressed outrage following the murder of 30 people in Kauru and is calling on the government to bolster security measures and provide aid to the affected community.

The Kaduna State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has officially denounced the slaughter of over 30 individuals in the Narido (Kizakoro) community of Kauru Local Government Area, labeling the violence a savage act against defenseless civilians.

Rev. Caleb Bawa Ma’aji, the State Chairman, issued a statement mourning the loss of men, women, children, and seniors. The association noted that this incident is part of an ongoing trend of violence, pointing to previous killings in August 2025 and June 2026. These recurrent tragedies have once again left the community facing the grim task of preparing for mass burials.

While acknowledging the efforts made by the Federal and State governments along with security forces, CAN emphasized that current strategies are insufficient. The organization is demanding more aggressive military operations, enhanced intelligence, and the establishment of permanent security outposts in rural regions. Furthermore, they are pressing for the swift arrest and prosecution of the masterminds behind these attacks.

Beyond security demands, CAN requested immediate humanitarian aid and medical support for survivors. The group concluded by urging community members to maintain peace and encouraged leaders to foster unity, reiterating their commitment to supporting the victims of the Narido community.
