Ladipo Johnson, the former National Publicity Secretary for the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and current leader of the OK Movement, has firmly denied any leadership transitions within the organization. While recent posts on the group’s official X account announced new appointments, Johnson insists the original leadership structure remains intact, as evidenced by the organization’s official website.
Johnson clarified that Jackie Wayas, who previously managed the X account but is not part of the core leadership, has allegedly taken control of the platform to post unauthorized updates. These posts included the naming of High Chief Peter Ameh as Director-General, Muhammad Hamisu as National Secretary, and Sam Amadi as Head of the Advisory Council. Johnson reiterated that John Ughulu remains the legitimate Director-General of the movement, which supports the political partnership between Peter Obi and Engr. Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
According to Johnson, Wayas utilized her access to the account passwords to unilaterally announce these changes, effectively hijacking the platform. He expressed concern that these internal disputes and public airing of grievances could damage the movement’s reputation and negatively impact the political objectives of its leaders. Johnson emphasized that Ughulu, along with Alhaji Adeleke, were the original founders of the coalition and that the recent actions taken by Wayas lack any official sanction from the movement’s leadership.
