Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), to lead his presidential campaign efforts within the state. According to a Wednesday announcement in Ibadan released by Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Adeniran will also take on the role of Director-General for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State.
The APM has tapped Bimbo Adekanmbi, a former finance commissioner who served under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial race. The campaign council features other notable officials, including former Oyo East Local Government Chairman Saheed Arowosaye as deputy coordinator and state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Demola Ojo as deputy Director-General for the South zone.
Governor Makinde, who is the APM presidential candidate, is scheduled to formally inaugurate the council this Friday at his office’s conference room.
