The President singled out the administration of Brazilian leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as the primary financial contributor to this supposed smear campaign. While local political analysts suggest these statements are a distraction from Milei’s falling popularity and the negative consequences of his recent austerity measures, the narrative has found traction among some citizens.
