Soldiers from Operation Hadin Kai captured 32-year-old Modu Rayami on suspicion of providing sustenance and fuel to Boko Haram and ISWAP militants in the Gubio area of Borno State. The apprehension took place on July 27 at 2:30 pm, carried out by the 149 Battalion (Motorised) alongside Hybrid Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force.
Intelligence reports directed the military toward Zowo village, where the suspect was linked to supply lines serving insurgents near the Binduldul–Kareto region. During the operation, forces seized various goods including gasoline, palm oil, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, garri, and beverages, alongside a mobile device.
Rayami reportedly confessed during initial questioning to facilitating these deliveries for militants active in the area. The military has confirmed that the individual and the seized supplies are being held for investigation. Officials noted that the mission concluded without incident at 3:20 pm, serving as part of a broader effort to dismantle insurgent logistics and resource chains.
