The Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTA) has officially started an enforcement operation to eliminate illicit motor parks and unapproved roadside commercial structures in Damaturu. This initiative launched this past Monday, immediately following the agency’s internal staff assembly.
YOROTA stated that the primary goals of this crackdown are to improve traffic safety, minimize congestion, and ensure smoother movement for both pedestrians and vehicles throughout the state capital.
Through a press release issued by spokesperson DSY Musa Ali Maigari, the agency cautioned commercial drivers, transport unions, tricycle operators, and street vendors that conducting business on public roads without authorization violates current traffic ordinances. The agency emphasized that violators will face legal penalties.
The organization has requested the assistance of local leaders, stakeholders, and the general public to help guarantee the success of these measures. YOROTA highlighted that community cooperation is essential for maintaining order, upholding road safety standards, and improving general sanitation across Damaturu. The agency reaffirmed its dedication to upholding orderly traffic management and safety regulations for every resident of Yobe State.
