Caroline Dubois parts ways with Shane McGuigan, eyes U.S. move

World champion Caroline Dubois has split from long-time trainer Shane McGuigan and plans to relocate to the U.S. as she prepares for her upcoming title defense against Amelia Moore.

British lightweight champion Caroline Dubois has ended her professional partnership with trainer Shane McGuigan. The 25-year-old, who started working with McGuigan in 2021, confirmed the decision was mutual and amicable as she prepares to move her training base to the United States. While her new coach has not been officially named, reports suggest she will be joining American trainer Manny Robles.

Dubois is currently scheduled to defend her WBC and WBO titles against Amelia Moore on August 29 in Birmingham. This match is part of an all-female event hosted by Most Valuable Promotions. Looking ahead, Dubois aims to unify the division further by targeting bouts against WBA titleholder Stephanie Han and IBF champion Elif Nur Turhan, while still keeping an eye on a potential clash with Alycia Baumgardner.

The Birmingham card, featuring a headline bout between Chantelle Cameron and Mikaela Mayer, also marks a new collaboration between Most Valuable Promotions and Matchroom Boxing. This partnership aims to increase cross-promotional opportunities for female fighters. Additionally, Australian world champion Skye Nicolson was announced as a new addition to the MVP roster and will defend her title against Miyo Yoshida during the same event.
