Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare disrupted a Wolverhampton Wanderers training session on Monday, refusing to vacate the field in a bid to secure a move to Fiorentina. The 25-year-old sat on the pitch, forcing new manager Cesar Peixoto to scrap the team’s practice session entirely.
As a consequence of his behavior, the forward has been excluded from the squad for the upcoming pre-season match against Maidenhead United. The dispute arises following the club’s decision to turn down an offer from the Italian team, despite having accepted a bid for the player from Turkish club Trabzonspor.
This incident adds to a history of disciplinary concerns for Arokodare, who was previously punished for an argument with teammate Mateus Mane in April. Since arriving from Genk for 24 million pounds last summer, the striker has struggled to make an impact, netting only three goals during the club’s relegation campaign.
