Minister of Defense, General Christopher Musa, has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu is preparing to authorize a pay increase for the Nigerian Armed Forces. According to a statement released by his media representative, Leah Katung-Babatunde, this initiative aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of service members and honor their national contributions.
General Musa highlighted his track record in this area, noting that he previously facilitated a wage hike from N49,000 to N100,000 during his previous role as Chief of Defence Staff. He emphasized that current initiatives are focused on securing a more substantial financial package for troops. He expressed that while the jump to N100,000 was a significant milestone achieved approximately two years ago, the administration is actively working toward further improvements for the military personnel.
