The Ebonyi State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has officially inaugurated a new executive committee. Mrs. Queendarlyn Nwigwe, who represents the All Progressives Congress (APC), was sworn in as the State Chairman. Her primary goals include bolstering transparency, advancing democratic ideals, and encouraging cooperation between the state’s various political factions.
The election proceedings occurred on Monday at the Abakaliki offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Notable attendees included the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Philip Okorie, and the national leader of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Prince Chinedu Obi.
Alongside Mrs. Nwigwe, several other officials were appointed to key positions, including Bishop Constant Edward as Deputy Chairman and Chief Peter Ozuma as Secretary. During her address, Mrs. Nwigwe acknowledged early procedural hurdles but expressed optimism for her tenure. She emphasized a commitment to inclusive governance and open communication, stating that she intends to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for all future electoral activities in the state.
Addressing questions about her simultaneous role as the APC Women Leader, Mrs. Nwigwe stated that she remains fully capable of balancing her responsibilities. She asserted that electoral success should be decided solely by the voters at the polls. Prince Chinedu Obi lauded the Ebonyi State government for its unique creation of a Ministry of Inter-Party Affairs, noting it as a significant step toward fostering a healthy political climate.
