Governor AbdulRazaq Asserts Kwara APC Strength Ahead of 2027 Polls

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects for the 2027 elections in Kwara State, highlighting the administration’s successful track record and the competence of the party’s candidates.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq recently declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is gaining momentum in the state and is well-positioned to secure a decisive victory in the 2027 general elections. During the APC Youth Engagement 2026 in Ilorin, the Governor highlighted the progress made since his administration took office in 2019, noting that they inherited a struggling system and successfully revitalized key sectors.

The Governor officially introduced the party’s candidates, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, who is the party’s gubernatorial candidate. AbdulRazaq defended Danladi’s qualifications, citing his extensive legislative experience and instrumental role in the assembly’s approval of the administration’s development projects. He urged party supporters to mobilize at the grassroots level to ensure the party’s continued dominance.

Reflecting on the state’s recovery, AbdulRazaq reminded attendees of the poor economic and infrastructural conditions prior to 2019, contrasting those days with the current status of Kwara as a leading state. He called on party members to remain diligent, emphasizing that while the opposition is weakened, hard work remains essential.

Rt. Hon. Danladi expressed gratitude for the opportunity and vowed to build upon the administration’s achievements. He noted that the state’s transformation agenda is visible across all 193 wards and committed to sustaining that progress. Other party leaders, including State Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi and Dr. Mahmud Umar Muhammed, encouraged unity among members and urged those with grievances to follow internal party processes for resolution rather than public dissent.
