An unidentified individual suspected of stealing motorcycles died after a crowd set him on fire at the entrance of the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State. This violent event took place on Monday following the man’s departure from the hospital emergency ward.
Reports indicate that two individuals were initially detained on hospital grounds for trying to take motorcycles. While one person managed to flee, the second individual was captured and sustained heavy injuries from an angry group. He was subsequently brought to the medical center for urgent care.
Witnesses noted that the injured suspect managed to slip out of the emergency room. Local youths tracked him down shortly afterward. According to accounts, the group apprehended him, struck him repeatedly, transported him to the hospital gate, and incinerated him. Footage circulating online depicts the injured man being pulled by a large group before the fatal act occurred. As of now, the Jigawa State Police Command has provided no official comment regarding the matter.
