Dele Momodu Claims Obasanjo Prefers Peter Obi Over Atiku for 2027

Dele Momodu suggests that Olusegun Obasanjo is tilting toward Peter Obi for 2027, while stating that Atiku Abubakar’s success remains a matter of destiny.

Dele Momodu, a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress, has suggested that former President Olusegun Obasanjo does not favor Atiku Abubakar for the upcoming 2027 presidential election. During an appearance on News Central TV, Momodu noted that reports imply Obasanjo is leaning toward supporting the Peter Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.

Regarding Atiku’s prospects, the former presidential candidate stated that the politician will reach the presidency only if it is his destiny. Momodu dismissed the idea that opposition fractures will decide the election outcome, arguing instead that the public will vote based on their evaluation of the current APC administration’s performance.

Momodu highlighted his belief that Obasanjo’s reported preference for Obi reflects a shift in political alliances. While referencing past public endorsements, he expressed confusion over the return of friction between Obasanjo and Atiku. Ultimately, he emphasized that the election results will hinge on the electorate’s judgment of governance.
