Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has publicly asserted that President Bola Tinubu is currently unwell. During a discussion on Symfoni TV, Lawal stated that the public is aware of the true nature of the President’s frequent trips to France.
Lawal suggested that the President should step down from his duties to focus entirely on his medical needs. He noted that Tinubu is not driven by material wealth, describing his daily diet as simple, consisting mostly of bananas and groundnuts. However, the former SGF highlighted that the President has a notable reliance on silk cigarettes. Lawal previously made headlines for leaving the African Democratic Congress following allegations of widespread fraud during the party’s primary process.
