Anthony Joshua overcame two early knockdowns to secure a knockout win against Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, keeping his path toward a fight with Tyson Fury clear.

Anthony Joshua secured his sixth victory in seven bouts, extending his professional record to 30-4. While the result keeps his anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury on track for later this year, the fight in Jeddah provided a significant scare. During a chaotic first round, the 36-year-old British boxer was floored twice by the underdog, Kristian Prenga.

Joshua managed to regain his composure before the second round. He unleashed a series of powerful right-hand punches that ultimately sent the Albanian fighter to the floor, securing a knockout victory. This performance occurred roughly seven months after a tragic car accident in Nigeria claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close companions, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. Joshua honored his late friends on his attire before entering the ring.

Despite the early adversity where he faced two counts in the opening minute, Joshua fought back to claim his 27th career knockout win. Following the finish, he shared an embrace with fellow boxer Oleksandr Usyk and acknowledged the crowd, clearly aware of how narrowly he avoided an unexpected defeat.
