The FCT branch of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for naming Ginika Florence-Tor to the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. During a gathering in Abuja, FCT chapter president Andrew Ugwu praised the move as a significant step toward inclusive government and equitable representation for the South-East region.
Ugwu highlighted that this appointment, along with ongoing infrastructure projects in the South-East, indicates that the current administration is actively working to incorporate professionals from all parts of the country into its development agenda. He noted that this is a positive shift for the Igbo community and signaled his organization’s full support for the administration’s goals.
Reflecting on her professional background, Ugwu expressed confidence in Tor’s ability to help shape fair national wage policies. He also took the opportunity to congratulate her on a recent international award received in Liberia, which he described as a reflection of her dedication to public service.
In her own remarks, Ginika Florence-Tor shared that the appointment was unexpected but deeply appreciated. Having recently concluded her service at the Federal Character Commission, she stated her intent to approach this new role with integrity. Tor emphasized that her primary focus is to serve the nation effectively and contribute to the success of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda while ensuring fair policies for all Nigerians.
