A group of past All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders from Misau Local Government Area, Bauchi State, has officially moved to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP). The transition was confirmed during an event managed by Hon. Maiwada Bakoji Misau and Hon. Shehu Dubagari Misau, who framed the departure as a strategic shift toward fostering equity and better governance.
Representing the defectors, the former officials highlighted deep frustration with how the APC was being managed. They pointed to restricted internal democracy, ineffective leadership, and a lack of concern for the needs of local supporters as primary reasons for their exit. They stated that their new path reflects a commitment to humanitarian service and genuine community progress.
The group has already begun organizing to boost the PRP’s influence in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. In response, local PRP leadership welcomed the newcomers, promising them equal status and full integration into the party. The party leadership further reinforced its dedication to transparency and unity as they prepare for upcoming electoral cycles.
