Ondo Police Arrest Officers Seen Threatening Motorist in Viral Video

The Ondo State Police Command has detained four officers featured in a viral video where they threatened a motorist and engaged in attempted extortion.

The Ondo State Police Command has officially apprehended the officers featured in a widely circulated video where they were seen attempting to extort a driver on the Lagos-Benin Expressway. In the clip, a policeman claimed he would have hit and jailed the driver had he belonged to the Igbo ethnic group.

This footage generated significant public outrage, leading many citizens to demand swift disciplinary action and prosecution. During a Friday press briefing, police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh confirmed that the individuals responsible were identified and taken into custody.

The arrested officers are identified as ASP Elomore Sodayo, Inspector Adefila Adewale, Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi, and Inspector Odusola Peter. Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu has initiated a thorough inquiry to clarify the details of the event and assess the exact misconduct of those involved.
