A group of students and teachers from Oyo state have regained their freedom following 56 days of being held by terrorists. The individuals were transported to the 2 Division Medical Centre at the Military Hospital in Ibadan to receive medical care.
Security forces barred members of the press from entering the premises, maintaining a strict perimeter around the facility. Even various government representatives were made to wait outdoors while the military conducted their standard security protocols.
Governor Seyi Makinde was the only individual granted permission to enter the hospital to visit the survivors. Military leadership has not issued a statement regarding why the press was excluded from the site. High-level security presence remains in effect, with personnel closely watching all activity around the hospital grounds.
