Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate, has criticized the Bola Tinubu administration for prioritizing insults and diversion over transparency. Through his aide, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku argued that the Presidency’s recent statement fails to address pressing public concerns, opting instead for personal attacks.
Atiku asserted that when a government replaces facts with name-calling, it signalizes a lack of credible answers. He clarified that questioning matters documented in public records does not constitute an assault on Nigerian sovereignty. He emphasized that the records in question exist independently of the opposition and deserve a direct, factual explanation rather than nationalist deflection.
The former Vice President highlighted the irony of an administration seeking global validation while rejecting international scrutiny as foreign interference. He maintained that winning an election does not absolve a leader from being held accountable by the public. Atiku concluded by urging the government to provide clear responses regarding questions about the President’s past, stating that propaganda and hostility cannot replace the truth that citizens rightfully demand.
