Chief Tanimu Turaki, the Interim National Working Committee Chairman for the Peoples Democratic Party, asserts that the organization remains immovable despite internal strife. Speaking at an Abuja stakeholders gathering, he stated that no entity can dismantle the party, confirming its commitment to fielding candidates across all levels in the 2027 general elections.
During the meeting, party leaders assessed recent judicial outcomes and discussed future legal maneuvers. Turaki drew parallels between current events and the 2016 leadership dispute, which resulted in the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee. He characterized today’s issues as manageable compared to past hurdles, expressing confidence in the party’s eventual recovery.
The senior lawyer further suggested that the ruling party profits from the instability seen within opposition groups. Reinforcing this message, former Niger State Governor and Board of Trustees Secretary Dr. Babangida Aliyu encouraged members to remain steadfast, noting that adversity often highlights the genuine character of an institution.
