The NCAA confirmed that an Enugu Air flight veered off the runway at Benin Airport, though all passengers and crew members exited the aircraft safely.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has released information regarding an incident involving an Enugu Air plane at the Benin Airport in Edo State this past Thursday. Michael Achimugu, the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, verified that the aircraft experienced a runway excursion upon arrival.

Achimugu stated that the plane veered off the runway after touching down. Fortunately, every individual on board, including the flight crew and all passengers, evacuated the craft without sustaining any injuries. An unnamed representative from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) also corroborated the report of the excursion.

Officials have not yet determined what led to the incident. Enugu Air, an airline established by the Enugu State government, began its commercial flight services on July 7, 2025.
