Five airlines selected by NAHCON for 2027 Hajj pilgrimage

NAHCON has authorized five airlines to conduct 2027 Hajj airlift operations following a strict vetting process to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially designated five airlines to handle air travel for the 2027 Hajj. As stated in an official announcement released in Abuja, the selected carriers include Air Peace Ltd., Flynas, Max Air Ltd., Saudi Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Ltd.

These companies were chosen after the Aviation Screening Committee completed a thorough evaluation regarding operational capability, financial stability, and safety standards. To finalize their participation, these airlines must secure formal airlift agreements with NAHCON and satisfy all regulatory requirements mandated by both the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and the Saudi General Authority on Civil Aviation.

Regarding logistics, NAHCON noted that specific passenger counts and flight timetables will be coordinated with individual State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards. Operators are strictly required to align their ticketing systems with the Nusuk-Masar data of each pilgrim. Furthermore, all flights must adhere to baggage policies, which limit passengers to one 32kg checked bag and 8kg of hand luggage. The commission has urged all partners to collaborate to ensure a safe and efficient travel experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
