The Nasarawa State administration has carried out a cabinet adjustment involving six commissioners to better align the government with its remaining policy goals. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, the Secretary to the State Government, announced the changes on Wednesday following a State Executive Council meeting.
The affected departments comprise Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Other Sundry Matters. Magaji clarified that these removals were not caused by incompetence but were instead a strategic effort to bring new momentum to the governance structure.
He expressed gratitude to the former officials for their dedicated service, noting that they remain eligible for future government roles. Meanwhile, the administration is focusing on boosting internal revenue by capitalizing on the state’s growing lithium sector. This follows the recent launch of a major lithium processing facility by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
