Middlesbrough has officially added Tottenham forward Will Lankshear to their squad. The 21-year-old signed a five-year deal in a transfer that could reach a club-record value of £20m. While the base fee sits at approximately £10m, performance-related add-ons could double that amount.
Lankshear expressed his enthusiasm for the move, noting that he views Middlesbrough as a side that belongs in the Premier League. The striker previously spent time on loan at Oxford United, where he recorded 11 goals and four assists throughout 44 Championship appearances last season.
A former standout in the Spurs youth system, Lankshear joined Tottenham from Sheffield United in 2022. He was instrumental in the Under-21 team winning the 2023-24 Premier League 2 title, earning player of the season honors in the process. His senior debut occurred in October 2024 during a Europa League match against Ferencvaros, and he later scored his first senior goal in the same competition against Galatasaray.
Lankshear becomes Middlesbrough’s fourth summer arrival, joining Myles Peart-Harris, Jeremy Sarmiento, and Kyle Joseph. This activity follows the £16m departure of Hayden Hackney to Everton.
