Former Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Armayau Abubakar, asserts that Nigeria currently lacks a viable opposition. Speaking in Abuja, the Federal Character Commission official urged prominent figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to align themselves with President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress. Abubakar argued that the ruling party has gained significant momentum and influence, rendering other political entities irrelevant.
Highlighting the party’s dominance among governors and legislators, he likened the APC to a vast ocean, suggesting that the opposition is essentially powerless. He further predicted a second term for President Tinubu, citing the government’s progress as an insurmountable lead.
Echoing these sentiments, APC women’s advocate Dayo Fasola claimed that the path to re-electing the President has become effortless due to a fragmented and disorganized opposition. She described the current political landscape as lacking any real challenge, stating that the absence of a structured opposition makes the party’s work significantly easier.
