Abdullahi Ganduje, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that the presidential pairing of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will fail to gain traction in Kano State during the 2027 elections. During a media interaction on Tuesday, the former Kano governor argued that the candidates possess neither the political influence nor the proven track record necessary to secure local voter support. Describing the ticket as doomed from the start, he insisted it would not find success.
Ganduje challenged Peter Obi’s past performance in Anambra State, questioning the lasting impact of his administration and suggesting he lacks the leadership experience required for the presidency. Regarding Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ganduje highlighted his inability to secure two consecutive terms in office, contrasting this with his own eight-year tenure and that of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau. Ultimately, Ganduje expressed doubt that Kwankwaso’s history in the state provides enough evidence to convince citizens he would be an effective vice-president.
