General Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, has declared his intention to pursue legal measures against those responsible for spreading claims that he stepped down from his role. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, Musa dismissed the reports as entirely false.
The Minister expressed surprise at the circulation of these rumors, suggesting they are being fueled by those unhappy with recent progress in national security. He firmly stated that he has never considered resigning and is committed to his duties. Previously, a statement issued by his media aide, Leah Katung-Babatunde, had also refuted these claims.
Musa reported that he briefed President Tinubu on the current security environment, noting the President’s satisfaction with recent developments. He emphasized that the nation is seeing improvements in its fight against banditry and terrorism, crediting this success to a collaborative approach involving all Nigerians. He concluded by thanking the public for their ongoing support and promising continued efforts to enhance security across the country.
