The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched its 2026 employment drive. The agency is seeking candidates for entry-level positions ranging from Grade Levels 07 to 12. Interested Nigerians can access the application portal starting Monday, July 20, with the window closing on July 27.
This initiative aims to bolster the commission’s operational efficiency in areas like electoral administration, logistics, and data management. To apply, candidates must register on the official portal, submit their details, and upload the necessary credentials.
INEC stressed that the application process is entirely free of charge. The commission warned that providing fraudulent documents or false information will result in immediate disqualification and potential legal action. Only applicants who are successfully shortlisted will be contacted for subsequent stages of the selection process.
The available roles are categorized by grade levels. Professional Cadre positions (GL 09, 10, and 12) require a bachelor’s degree, with some roles demanding a master’s or specific professional certifications like ICAN, COREN, or NBA, alongside post-qualification experience. Administrative Officer II roles (GL 08) require a degree or HND in the Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences, plus proof of NYSC participation. Executive Officer positions (GL 07) require an NCE and basic proficiency in computer operations and data handling.
Applicants should select their preferred vacancy carefully, as choices are final once submitted. The commission advises all candidates to review the requirements thoroughly before finalizing their applications.
