Two farmers murdered in Plateau State ambush

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani terrorists killed two farmers in separate attacks on Sunday and Monday in Takkas community, Plateau State.

Suspected Fulani terrorists targeted Takkas community in the Fier Ward of Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of two farmers and leaving another person severely wounded. The attackers set an ambush, striking the victims as they worked on their fields between Sunday and Monday.

Rt. Hon. Dewan Gabriel, who serves as the representative for Pankshin North in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the casualties. He noted that the first victim died on Sunday, followed by the second on Monday evening. According to his official statement, the bodies have been transported to the General Hospital in Pankshin and a local Christian medical facility.

The lawmaker denounced the violence as barbaric and unacceptable. He highlighted the growing fear among local residents, who are now apprehensive about tending to their crops during the critical farming season. Gabriel has demanded that security agencies identify and apprehend the attackers immediately. He also called on the public to remain composed while supporting investigators with relevant information as authorities work to ensure safety in the region.
