PRNigeria founder Yushau Shuaib is advocating for an immediate cessation of institutional bullying against Nigerians, emphasizing that organizations must uphold the constitutional rights of citizens. Shuaib highlighted these concerns after being removed from the Senior Executive Course 47 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). The institute allegedly withdrew him due to a media report published by his former company, despite his lack of involvement in that specific article.
Shuaib contends that his dismissal violated principles of due process, digital privacy, and freedom of expression. He further claims the institute coerced him into signing apologies that were later used to gain an advantage in subsequent litigation. Although he did not prevail in his initial court case regarding the removal, he intends to challenge the decision at the Court of Appeal. To shed light on the incident, Shuaib released a memoir detailing his time at NIPSS and his grievances regarding the interception of private emails and the lack of investigation by authorities like the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
The publisher noted that this incident mirrors other ongoing legal struggles, including a defamation case and a banking dispute involving frozen accounts. Shuaib argued that the lack of accountability in these matters serves to undermine public trust in the rule of law within the country.
