The Nigerian Army has issued a public warning regarding a deceptive recruitment notice currently circulating online. The fraudulent advertisement invites individuals to apply for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027.
Col. Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, explicitly stated that the military did not issue this notice. She urged the public to ignore the announcement and avoid interacting with any groups or websites claiming to facilitate recruitment on behalf of the military.
The Army emphasized that all commissioning and recruitment procedures are handled transparently, fairly, and without any cost. Official information is exclusively disseminated through national newspapers and the organization’s verified digital channels. The military maintains a strict policy against selling application forms or using agents to manage intake.
Security forces have begun investigations to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of this scam. The Army encourages citizens to report any suspicious activity to the nearest military office and to rely only on official sources to prevent victimization by criminals.
