Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-identified Director-General of the unrecognized Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), has provided details regarding how the fraudulent agency was included in federal budget plans. In an interview with activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Adeniyi claimed he had already stepped away from the organization by the time the N1.3 billion figure surfaced in official documents.
This disclosure emerged following Adeniyi’s arrest on charges of conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation. Adeniyi recounted his visit to the Budget Office in December 2024 to request funding for the 2025 cycle, only to be told he had missed the filing deadline. He was subsequently advised to target the 2026 budget instead.
The former director alleged that a female staff member at the Budget Office introduced him to superiors, claiming he was pressured to provide a bribe to advance his request. Although he was told the 2025 window was closed, he claims he was given assurances regarding future inclusion. Adeniyi maintained that his legal issues and detention halted his activities, leaving him unaware of how the agency managed to secure a N1.32 billion allocation, especially given the government’s stance that the council lacks a legal foundation.
