Monica Kaltho Ends Legal Challenge Against PDP Gombe Gubernatorial Primary

Monica Kaltho has dropped her lawsuit against the PDP governorship primary in Gombe, opting to support the party’s candidate, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, to ensure unity ahead of the 2027 election.

Monica Yahaya Kaltho, a former contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Gombe State, has officially pulled out of a legal dispute involving disgruntled aspirants. The group had previously challenged the validity of the party’s primary election, which resulted in a single candidate being confirmed.

This development was confirmed on Saturday through a notice released by Hussaini Ali Muhammed, the media representative for Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo. Following her withdrawal, Kaltho pledged her commitment to the party’s gubernatorial nominee, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, and vowed to assist in securing his victory in the 2027 polls.

Kaltho noted that her exit from the litigation followed discussions with Senator Dankwambo. The former governor had urged her to drop the case to foster cohesion and advancement within the party. Kaltho emphasized her high regard for Dankwambo, stating that she prioritized the party’s collective welfare and the prosperity of Gombe State above her individual interests. She urged all PDP members to concentrate their efforts on the upcoming 2027 electoral cycle.
