Suspect linked to Jos–Makurdi highway kidnappings captured

Troops in Plateau State have arrested a suspected kidnapper linked to violent criminal activities along the Jos–Makurdi highway.

Soldiers from Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace have apprehended an individual suspected of involvement in a kidnap gang. This group is reportedly responsible for numerous violent attacks and abductions targeting travelers on the Jos–Makurdi highway in Plateau State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the news through a social media update on Friday.

The capture occurred at 5:00 p.m. on July 16. Troops stationed at the Standing Operating Base in Bangai Village, located within the Riyom Local Government Area, executed the precise mission.

Initial reports indicate the man belongs to an armed criminal group that has frequently threatened local residents and motorists along the major route. Military officials currently hold the suspect. He is providing intelligence that could lead to the total collapse of the criminal network and the apprehension of his accomplices.
